LDU Quito wins the Copa Libertadores! | VIDEO

LDU Quito won the Copa LIbertadores right on Maracana from Brazil, against home team Fluminense. In the first leg, the Ecuadorians won 4-2. This time they lost 3-1 so the game was decided after the penalty kicks. We all know that in South America, the away goal doesn’t count . So LDU won it in front of 86.000 Fluminense fans, leaving everyone disappointed.The hat trick of Thiago Neves didn’t help the Brazilian team that much after all, but he still was declared man of the match.

It’s the first time in the club’s history when they win it, LDU Quito never winning such a big competition until now. These are the highlights of the game, a game in which LDU actually scored first :

 

Fernando Torres tattoo

During this match we could see the tattoos of Fernando Torres, the one only one who scorred in the Euro 2008 final!

Fernando has tattoos on of both of his inner arms. On his right arm he has the number 9 tattooed, which obviously means his shirt number in the Spanish national team, formerly in Atlético Madrid and currently in Liverpool. On his left arm he has “Fernando” tattooed in tengwar, which is a constructed script invented by J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of the Lord of the Rings series.

It has been a long wait for Spannish soccer but it finally got what it has been waiting for so many years…the Euro Cup. And although when it comes to clubs, Spain is one of the top countries, this trophy is the first after 44 years Good job Spain!

What a fantastic match the Euro cup 2008 final was. Really lived up to it’s name. Spain produced a good display to beat a tired Germany.

Beckham scored a goal from his own half in MLS! | VIDEO

In this weekend’s match against Kansas City, David Beckham from LA Galaxy scored a spectacular goal from his own half in the last seconds of the game. LA was leading 2-1 in the ending of the game, so the Kansas goalkeeper fled his goal to try his luck at the last corner kick of the match. Only that David got the ball on a counter attack and he scored from his own half, the goal beeing of course empty . This is the goal :

 

UNICEF “sacks” Ronaldo! A career reaching to a shameful end

It’s getting worser and worser for Ronaldo. After the phone company TIM from Italy broke the Brazilian star’s contract, UNICEF did the same. The scandal involving him and the transexuals in Rio de Janeiro costs him a lot it seems. Ronaldo was a UNICEF ambassador and went to different countries to take part to actions supervised by them. It’s a disastrous ending to a career full of achievements and glory. He affirms that he will get back on the pitch after he will recove from his injury, but allow me to be sceptical in this matter . It’s a compromised career I think…

Beckham gets a double in MLS | VIDEO

David Beckham scored two goals in the game against Salt Lake in the MLS. Beckham’s goals helped LA save a point from a game that seemed lost after Salt Lake had a 2-0 lead. The English superstar scored in the 36th and 40th minutes, two great goals that keep LA on track of the leaders FC Dallas in the West conference, the Californians being only 1 point behind. Diego Armando Maradona, the best Argentinian player of all times, can’t quite get along with reporters. A few years ago, Diego got pissed off and shot some of them with a small calibre gun. Yesterday when he was exiting a court house from Buenos Aires , he got surrounded by reporters and photographers. After a few yellings, this is what happened :

Beckham gets his first goal in MLS!

David Beckham got his first goal in Major League Soccer since he came to Los Angels Galaxy in the 2-0 win against San Jose Earthquakes.He also passed for the other goal, thus playing his best game yet.

This is his second goal for the team, the first one being scored in SuperLiga, after he managed to do it from a free kick.
