Boavista Porto relegated in Portugal !

After 4 years of trials on the corruption scandal in Portugal, the guilty part suffers for paying referees. Boavista was relegated in the second division, and FC Porto’s president, Jorge Pinto da Costa, was suspended 2 years. At the same time, Porto, already champions, with a 20 point lead, was penalized 6 points and got a fine of 150 000 euros. Boavista, 9th place in Portugal with 36 points, was relegated for “putting presure on referees” in 3 games from the 2003-2004 season. The second team of Porto got a fine worth of 180 000 euros, and the ex-president Joao Loureiro got a 25 000 euros one and 4 years suspension.
