Brazil head to Chile on Monday for a game in the South America World Cup Qualifiers Group. Chile has a high moral and it is known that Brazil’s national plays like shit lately, so it may be either’s game.
Chile come into this enticing clash with Brazil having won their last two qualifiers (away wins against Bolivia and Venezuela), but they know Carlos Dunga’s men are desperate for the points, meaning that it will be an action-packed encounter that they will have to be at their very best in to win the three points.
Chile have an exciting attacking third, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Humberto Suazo and Jean Beausejour, three players who have the potential to give the Brazilians a deep struggle.
If they win, Chile get very close to their first final tournament after 1998.
The pressure is definitely on the whole of Brazil to perform; Carlos Dunga, Ronaldinho, Robinho, and the rest of the squad. Kaka is the big absence of this game.
Dunga will surely get the sack, after a poor run of results and heavy criticism from even the Brazilian president. But Brazil will have taken heed from previous mistakes, and will surely sit back to soak pressure, and will move forward with swift counterattacks, generated by the likes of Ronaldinho and Robinho.
As for the teams..In the Chilean side, the biggest surprise is that Bielsa decided to leave Jorge Valdivia on the bench and replace him with Matias Fernandez. Jean Beausejour also earns a starting role in the Chilean attack, where he will team-up with Humberto Suazo.
Team Line-ups
Chile: Claudio Bravo, Gonzalo Jara, Gary Medel, Marco Estrada, Arturo Vidal, Carlos Carmona, Roberto Cereceda, Matias Fernandez, Alexis Sanchez, Humberto Suazo and Jean Beausejour. Coach: Marcelo Bielsa.
Brazil: Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Luisao, Kleber, Gilberto Silva, Josue, Diego, Robinho, Ronaldinho Gaucho and Luis Fabiano. Coach: Carlos Dunga.
Prediction: I think Brazil will get the win against Chile, 3 goals to 1.
