LDU Quito won the Copa LIbertadores right on Maracana from Brazil, against home team Fluminense. In the first leg, the Ecuadorians won 4-2. This time they lost 3-1 so the game was decided after the penalty kicks. We all know that in South America, the away goal doesn’t count 
. So LDU won it in front of 86.000 Fluminense fans, leaving everyone disappointed.The hat trick of Thiago Neves didn’t help the Brazilian team that much after all, but he still was declared man of the match.
It’s the first time in the club’s history when they win it, LDU Quito never winning such a big competition until now. These are the highlights of the game, a game in which LDU actually scored first :

A fairty tale run that ended in perhaps the most dramatic manner. This night will forever be remembered perhaps one of Ecuadorean football biggest nights.
I’m glad that the most of this success has to do with 3 players & 1 coach from Argentina.
